It seems like everyone is talking about NFTs after Beeple, a digital artist, sold his artwork for $69 million. We’ve posted about “NFT mania” many times before and have included another primer below. Tomorrow, in the US, a new SEC regulation amendment, Reg CF, will raise the maximum amount that can be raised via crowdfunding from $1.07 million to $5 million. As many have said, this change will help democratize retail investing and venture capital! Meanwhile in Europe, Passion Capital, an early-stage VC is opening its $62 million fund for crowdfunding investors.
BuzzFeed is reportedly in talks to go public via a SPAC deal. Twitter plans to launch Spaces next month to everyone. Dropbox acquires DocSend for $165 million. The gaming site Roblox goes public. And Flutterwave became Africa’s newest tech unicorn.
